Manifesting moon magic

Working with the Moon

Although new moons and full moons get the most attention, there are 8 moon phases in total. These phases reflect the relationship between the Sun and the Moon. They are technically called soli-lunar phases. The Moon isn’t changing on her own, she’s reflecting the Sun’s light. The positions of the Moon and Sun in the sky from Earth’s perspective determine how much of the Moon is illuminated or visible. The entire lunar phase cycle is about 29.5 days. It begins when the Sun and Moon come together (new moon), peaks when they oppose each other (full moon) and ends just before they come back together again (waning crescent, a dying moon, or the dark moon).

Working with the New Moon

The Moon is born at the conjunction with the Sun and as she moves away she begins to be visible to the world. She experiences something like infancy and childhood.
Moon magic
The New Moon is representative of the Seed. Between the Dark Moon and New Moon, she is like the Season of rest or Winter. This is the very beginning of rebirth or the start of a new cycle. This is a time to set your intentions, make plans, and say them out loud but planting those seeds won’t start until the Springtime or the next moon phase.Write down your goals, manifestations, or create a vision board. Be ready for when it is time to plant those seeds and allow them to sprout.
Words for this phase: renewal, reincarnation, envision, revitalization, reawakening, return to life, and dawn.
