Witch’s Calendar January 2026
The witch’s calendar reminds us of the beginning.
Arriving quietly, wrapped in cold air, January feels like the clean edges of a neatly wrapped present. While the excess of the holidays has faded, what remains is a wide, open landscape. This is not the bright, bursting beginning we’re taught to expect. It is a slower start, but a truer one.
January is the month of bone-deep intention, choosing what you will carry forward and what must be laid down. The earth is still resting, and so should we. This is a time for tending inner fires, for sharpening instincts, and for planning from alignment.
The Wolf Moon rises early in the year, reminding us that hunger for wisdom is our instinct. The wild one who knows when to wait, when to act, and when to strip life back to what is essential. Under this moon and through this month, we move deliberately, with clarity and purpose, building a year that can truly hold us.

Witchy Ways to Start January 2026
January 1
Mercury enters Capricorn. Carry rosemary to speak with purpose and plan with clarity.
January 2
Simmer cinnamon in water and say, “Abundance flows through the year.”
January 3 – Full Moon in Cancer
Gaze at the moon and say, “As wolves roam free, I release what no longer serves me.”
January 4
While cooking soup, stir clockwise and say, “Nourishment abounds in this home.”
January 5
Clean with lemon water and salt to cleanse and reset your energy.
January 6
Venus cazimi in Capricorn. Hold a rose quartz at your heart and affirm love is supported and intentional.
January 7
Add rice, a bay leaf, and coins to a jar. Say, “Prosperity flows where I focus.”
January 8
Place a piece of quartz at family photos. Say, “Harmony flows through love we share.”
January 9
Mars cazimi in Capricorn. Place rosemary under your doormat to strengthen boundaries.
January 10
Bake bread or cookies. Whisper intentions for warmth and nourishment as you mix.
The Middle of January for Witches
January 11 – Last Quarter Moon
Release what hides in shadow and reclaim your power.
January 12
Sprinkle ginger into tea or coffee for vitality. Stir clockwise, visualizing energy filling you.
January 13
Sweep floors with intention, visualizing negativity leaving with each stroke.
January 14
Add rosemary to your shower to cleanse and refresh your spirit.
January 15
Sprinkle coffee grounds around plants, saying, “Growth and life thrive here.”
January 16
Toss a pinch of salt over your left shoulder and say, “Luck and light guide me today.”
January 17
Write intentions for movement and creativity. Place near amethyst or clear quartz.
Witchy Ways to Honor The End of January
January 25 – First Quarter Moon
Hang a small bundle of bay leaves and thyme above your door for protection.
January 26
Neptune re-enters Aries. Chant, “Flames of Aries, bold and true, ignite my dreams I pursue.”
January 27
Write down fears on paper, crumble it, and throw it away.
January 28
Place a jar of water outside or on a windowsill to absorb the moon’s energy for later spellwork.
January 29
Sprinkle salt around doors, saying, “Peace and blessings reside here.”
January 30
Self-love day. Write your name on a pink candle. Rub it with olive oil and rosemary. Let it burn down.
January 31
Mop floors with water, bay oil, and basil oil to draw in prosperity.
