The Witch's Almanac for the Month of April

This month, the Witches’ Almanac for April leads us into an awakening that’s as fresh as the dew on a damask rose in the morning. April is a breath of warm wind through wildflower fields…

Soft, wild, and filled with whispers from the unseen. The magick feels stronger this time of year—not because many of us have had time to sink into, or completely give up, our New Year’s resolutions, but because the Earth itself is waking up. Buds burst open, birds sing prophecies, and the stars above begin to stir things in our bones. This month, the Universe invites us to love deeper, dream braver, and plant seeds that will grow strong in the sunlight of our becoming.

So, gather your journal, your herbs, and your favorite cup of iced what-have-you, and let’s see what April holds for the naturally modern witch in all of us.

Witch's Almanac: The Pink Full Moon in Libra on April 13, 2025

Full Moon in Libra – April 13

Libra 23°19’ at 2:09 AM UTC
The moon in Libra pours silver light over the balance scales of our lives. This is a moon of relationships within and without. Old dynamics may crack under the weight of truth, but clarity is a blessing in disguise.

Commonly known as the Pink Moon, it rises in April, like a soft and glowing reminder of spring. It doesn’t shine pink, it gets its name from the wild phlox that blooms this time of year, blanketing the earth in color after the thaw. The Algonquin people are credited with naming many of the other full moons we know of throughout the year.

Symbolically, the Pink Moon is all about renewal, rebirth, and blooming where you’re planted. It’s a reminder that the cold season is behind us, and something deep within is stirring ready to rise, ready to grow.

Let it be a gentle nudge to tend your dreams like a garden. The soil is fertile now.

Correspondences:

  • Element: Air
  • Rituals: Air whispers through branches, carries our words and wishes to the stars. This is a time to release with breath, with wind, with words. Write letters you don’t send. Speak your truth to the sky. Burn what no longer serves and let the ashes drift on the breeze.

Smoke Clearing and Cleansing

Lighting incense is more than a scent; it’s a conversation with the unseen. Whether an herb bundle, loose incense on coal, a stick, or a cone, (make your own incense here) there’s something ancient about the way smoke curls through a room. I like to move counterclockwise around a room starting from the primary entrance. Letting the smoke wrap around corners, waft through doorways, and pull that old energy right out. As it rises, imagine it lifting what no longer serves you. Choose lavender for peace, tranquility, and love. Sage for cleansing, clearing, and wisdom. Or, patchouli for abundance and manifestation.

Wind Chimes Charged with Intentions

Hang your hopes from a string, and let the wind do the rest. Wind chimes aren’t just pretty sounds, think of them as prayers with rhythm. As they sing in the breeze, imagine each note carrying your intentions into the world. Before you hang them, whisper your wishes into the metal or wood. Bless them with purpose. Then every time they ring, it’s like the universe is answering back: I hear you. I’m working on it.

Whisper your Release to the Wind

Find a quiet moment, just you and the air. Stand under the open sky or even an open window will do. Breathe in deeply, and when you exhale, speak softly. Tell the wind what you’re ready to let go of. Old hurts, regrets, and patterns. Don’t worry if the words aren’t perfect. The wind understands what’s meant, not just what’s said. Let it carry your release far from you, out into the wide and wild beyond.

Libra Traits:

Lights: Diplomatic, graceful, artistic, lover of beauty, relationship-oriented
Shadows: Indecisive, avoidant, too eager to please, easily ungrounded

Witch's Almanac: New Moon in Taurus on April 27

Taurus 7°46’ at 3:32 PM UTC
This moon speaks in honeyed tones about comfort, stability, and abundance. A perfect night to plant intentions (and maybe a few seeds in the garden too).

New moon Rituals are here.

  • Element: Earth
  • Rituals: Earth grounds, nourishes, and supports us. This moon calls us to manifest through tangible action. Build altars from stone and wood. Touch the soil. Envision your desires growing roots.

Bury a Written Intention in the Garden

Write down your heart’s desire on paper and tuck it into the earth like you are planting a seed. As you cover it, speak your intention aloud. Over time, the earth will carry your words downward, keeping the promise you whispered to the roots. There’s just something holy about putting your hands in the dirt.

Work with Crystals like Moss Agate, Green aventurine, or Jade

  • Moss Agate is the gardener’s stone. Use it to strengthen your connection to nature and encourage new beginnings.

  • Green Aventurine is all about abundance. It invites opportunity and growth.

  • Jade brings harmony and protection

  • Keep them in your pocket while you walk barefoot in the grass, place them near your plants, or sit with them in meditation and let them teach you the slow magick of growth.

Prepare a Feast with Seasonal Foods and Offer a Plate to the Land

Cooking can be a spell all on its own, especially when it’s done with reverence. Use what the earth is giving. As you stir and chop and season, think of it as a thank you to the land. When the meal is done, prepare a small plate and set it outside—beneath a tree, near a garden, or even on your porch. It’s not just food, it’s gratitude made visible.

Make Herbal Oils or Salts to Honor your Body and the Earth

Gather herbs and infuse them into oil under the new moon, or blend them into salts for a warm bath or sacred sprinkle. As you create, speak blessings into your hands. You’re not just making something useful you’re weaving care into a physical form. Use these oils or salts to bless your skin, your space, or even your tools. Each time you do, you reconnect with the earth’s generosity and your own worthiness to receive it.

Taurus Traits:

Lights: Loyal, sensual, patient, reliable, rooted in pleasure
Shadows: Stubborn, possessive, overly material, resistant to change

Rituals for the Month of April & the Pink Moon

While the Pink Moon is named not for its color, but for the moss pink phlox that blooms this time of year, its energy is tender, rosy, and ripe for healing.

Pink Moon Ritual Ideas

  • Self-love bath with rose petals and Himalayan salt
  • Create a “bloom list”of things you want to see flourish in your life
  • Craft flower crowns with pink blooms
  • Charge rose quartz under the full moon
  • Write a letter to your younger self, forgiving and loving them

May this April carry you gently but powerfully into a new chapter, one where your heart feels light, your feet feel rooted, and the stars seem to align.

Blessed be!
